OCEAN POWER RAFTING & SNORKELING - Kealakekua Bay

Using rigid-hull inflatable boats made famous by U.S. Navy SEAL teams, four-hour excursion will explore the fourteen-mile Kona coast between Honokōhau and Kealakekua Bay. The rafts are quick and nimble providing a thrilling, fast trip on the water. Kealakekua Bay is a National Marine Park and one of Hawai'i's finest underwater preserves. There you'll snorkel in Hawai'i's calmest, most protected snorkel spot with pristine waters where over 200 tropical varieties of fish parade past in a mosaic array of color and form. Spinner dolphins and flying fish are commonly seen on this trip, too. Inquisitive turtles have been known to pay a visit as well. On the return trip, you will see exposed giant lava tubes, sea caves and natural blow holes.

  • Any changes to the Ocean Power Rafting & Snorkeling itinerary is at the Captain's discretion and is based on prevailing and/or anticipated wind and sea conditions. The preferred destination is Kealakekua Bay.
  • Due to Homeland Security regulations, all persons entering a harbor must be able to provide identification
  • The State of Hawai'i requires reef safe sunscreen only be used; it bans any sunscreen with oxybenzone and octinoxate to protect our reefs. In addition, Maui and Hawai'i Counties also bans the sale, distribution, and use of non-mineral sunscreens. Mineral sunscreens which contain zinc oxide or titanium dioxide are allowed. DEEP SEA FISHING - Kailua-Kona

The waters off Kailua-Kona are some of the finest deep-sea fishing grounds in the world. Unique marine features combined with almost perfect year-round weather and successful wildlife management techniques provide a natural arena perfect for fishing. The great volcanic mountains of Mauna Loa and Hualālai allow the fishing to be done in the calm, wind-protected safety of the island. Well known game or "flag fish" like mahi mahi (dorado), ono (wahoo), and 'ahi (yellowfin tuna) are all found and caught on a regular basis. However, the goal for most anglers is to land the Au or Pacific Blue Marlin. A fleet of sleek sport fishing boats will allow fishermen the chance to seek a world record or provide a fantastic memory.

Activity Schedule

6:00am Depart Hotel
6:45am Arrive at Honokōhau Harbor
7:00am-1:00pm Fishing Charter
1:30pm Depart Honokōhau Harbor
2:15pm Return to Hotel

Activity Notes

  • Any changes to the selected fishing location is at the Captain's discretion and is based on prevailing and/or anticipated wind and sea conditions.
  • For safety reasons, spray sunscreen is not allowed as it can make the raft surface very slippery
  • The State of Hawai'i requires reef safe sunscreen only be used; it bans any sunscreen with oxybenzone and octinoxate to protect our reefs. In addition, Maui and Hawai'i Counties also bans the sale, distribution, and use of non-mineral sunscreens. Mineral sunscreens which contain zinc oxide or titanium dioxide are allowed
  • Guest should wear comfortable attire or swimsuit and cover, hat, sunglasses
  • All fish caught become the property of the captain and crew as part of the charter.
  • Based on availability and subject to the captains discretion, it may be possible to get a piece of the fish. However hotels in Hawai'i do not allow outside seafood to be brought in and cooked in their kitchens. In addition Hawai'i does not have a packing and shipping facility, so the fish cannot be shipped back to the mainland. Due to the length of flights most airlines do not allow fish to be brought onboard either in the cabin or in cargo.

MAUNA LANI GOLF - North Course

The North Course represents the quintessential golf experience on the Island of Hawaii. Built on a lava bed, the North is characterized by 18 holes of rolling terrain punctuated by Kiawe (mesquite) forests. A 230-acre protected archaeological district lies on the northern boundary of the golf course. No.17, a par three tucked into a natural lava amphitheater, is the resort's signature hole and a favorite "I was here" photo spot. This course has become one of the most popular tournament venues on the Island. Lunch will be available after your round.
